Do you have a creative process you can share with us? I like to sit back in my chair, tug on my beard and come up with ideas. Then I write my ideas out, or draw little thumbnails. I have sketchbooks, note book paper, post its, bills, letters, etc. with little drawings on them sprawled all over my room.
This is a photo of my friend Alan. An artist, handy man, and a devoted husband. Anyway Alan and I, and another buddy of mine were cutting down trees, and doing some general landscaping to my deceased grandmother’s house earlier that afternoon.
During that time frame we accidentally cut off a branch that was intertwined in the power line therefore knocking out power to the whole block. Needless to say I wasn’t looking for anymore drama that day, but unfortunately on the way home that night my alternator died. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. So I called Alan up, and thankfully he and the other guy weren’t to far out of town.
So there I was stuck in the middle of nowhere under a spotlight in the parking lot of a closed diner, pissed off, dead tired and a wee bit disoriented by the whole situation.
Thankfully 20 minutes later they showed up. Alan  was pretty chill, matter of fact he just took up the art of widdling and he introduced it to me that night while waiting for my car to be towed. I mean if you drove by you’d see a black guy, a mexican, and this guy widdling under a single spot light. I will never forget that night.
